The entire project was developed by Microstudio, from site inspections and measurements to graphic design. Working closely with the museum representatives, we chose the “Tree of Life”, a symbol of family, as the ideal setting for welcoming babies and their families to the museums in an inclusive and comfortable environment.
Baby Pit Stop corners | Treviso Civic Museums
Designed, produced and donated by Microstudio to celebrate its 60th anniversary
The Baby Pit Stop project was created by the Municipality of Treviso following a proposal by UNICEF. Its purpose is to help parents and families with young children visit the museums comfortably and safely, even during a simple walk through Treviso.
A few months earlier, a representative of the Civic Museums contacted us for advice on creating a dedicated area where parents could safely and comfortably change and care for their babies.
After fully understanding the purpose of the initiative, we immediately saw it as an opportunity to express our gratitude to the City of Treviso, despite the difficult period caused by the pandemic.
The initiative received the patronage of UNICEF, confirming that this was the ideal project through which to show our appreciation for the city.
We therefore designed two dedicated corners using self-supporting structural panels enhanced with direct Roland UV printing.
As Microstudio was celebrating its 60th anniversary, donating these two Baby Pit Stop corners to the Civic Museums was our way of thanking the City of Treviso, its businesses, associations, museums and residents for the trust they have placed in our services over the years.
Through this gesture, we wanted to give something back in return for the extraordinary trust that Treviso has placed in us for 60 years.
The entire project was developed by Microstudio, including site inspections, measurements and graphic design. Together with the museum representatives, we selected the “Tree of Life”, a symbol of family, as the ideal visual theme for welcoming babies and their families to the museums.
The corners were conceived, designed and installed to make the best possible use of the limited space available within museums containing unique works of art.
Every detail was carefully considered, from the position and colour scheme to the practical internal shelves designed to hold nappies and other essential items.
The result is a welcoming, functional and visually coordinated space for families.
Because the spaces available in the two museums were different, we created two tailor-made solutions. At the Santa Caterina Museum, the structure forms a dedicated corner, with the panels secured to the floor and existing wall to guarantee stability and safety. At the Bailo Museum, the Baby Pit Stop area was created within a corridor using a freestanding partition wall to provide privacy. The Municipality then equipped both spaces with everything required for parents to care for their children.
This initiative also allows participating locations to be included on the Baby Pit Stop map, increasing their visibility among local families and visitors.
