2021 Jeep Wrangler Car Wrapping | 3M M26 Matte Military Green

This 2021 Jeep Wrangler was originally red. The customer was unsure whether to buy it because he simply did not like the colour. After finding us online, he contacted Microstudio and, once we had agreed on the project, brought the vehicle to our workshop in Treviso with a clear objective: to completely transform its appearance, enhance its muscular lines and off-road character, while retaining the option of restoring the original colour in the future.

Full car wrapping in matte military green

The entire bodywork of the Jeep Wrangler was wrapped. This was a “Total Wrapping” project, including the roof and the inner door areas. Since the vehicle was originally red, the customer wanted to cover as much of the original body colour as possible. Some elements of the front grille and the trim located beneath the roof rack bars were instead wrapped in matte black film, creating visual continuity with the black details already present on the vehicle.

The mirrors, wheel arches, side mouldings and other black components were left in their original configuration. This choice allows the Matte Military Green colour to stand out without making the overall design appear too heavy, enhancing the contrast between the matte green bodywork and the dark elements typical of the Wrangler.

Preparing the Jeep Wrangler

Before beginning the application, the vehicle underwent a thorough cleaning and an inspection of the most complex areas of the bodywork. The presence of edges, recesses, attached components and intricately shaped details requires careful preliminary assessment in order to select the most suitable application technique for each area.

The bumpers were removed to provide better access to the edges and normally less accessible areas. This operation made it possible to finish the film more precisely and achieve a stable, neat result even in the most challenging sections.

3M 2080 M26 Matte Military Green film

The film used belongs to the 3M 2080 Series, developed for vehicle customisation and suitable for wrapping both individual components and the entire bodywork. The material’s conformability and its ability to be repositioned during application help professional installers follow complex curves, edges and recesses.

The option of having the film professionally removed was an important factor in the customer’s decision. Vehicle wrapping with adhesive film makes it possible to dramatically change the appearance of a vehicle while retaining the option of restoring it to its original configuration at a later date, provided that the underlying paintwork is in suitable condition.

An even more distinctive off-road vehicle

The matte finish reduces reflections and makes the volumes of the bodywork more clearly defined. On the Jeep Wrangler, the military green colour highlights the wheel arches, bonnet, side panels and squared-off surfaces, making the vehicle appear even more solid and imposing.

The final result is a balanced yet highly distinctive off-road vehicle wrap: the Matte Military Green bodywork emphasises the vehicle’s muscular lines, while the matte black details complete the project without compromising the unmistakable identity of the Wrangler.
